Yet, lately, my heart has been increasingly drawn to a different frontier: **Generative AI**.

Web development often feels like constructing with a sophisticated set of building blocks. You're given a blueprint (a design), and your task is to assemble it efficiently and elegantly. It's about precision, logic, and user experience.  

Generative AI, on the other hand, feels like being handed a paintbrush and a canvas—with the ability to conjure entirely new forms, ideas, and solutions that weren’t explicitly coded.

I remember the first time I experimented with a large language model to generate creative content. I gave it a few keywords, a desired tone, and a context. What came back wasn’t just a rehash of existing information; it was a unique narrative, with surprising turns of phrase and insightful observations.  

It felt less like programming and more like **collaborating with an alien intelligence**—a creative partner that could explore possibilities beyond my own human limitations. That’s a feeling web development, for all its merits, rarely evokes in me.

The world’s loud. Phones buzzing, screens glowing, notifications stacked like Tetris. And in the middle of all that noise, there’s something raw and grounding about just grabbing a pencil and a blank sheet.  

For me, sketching isn’t about “drawing.” It’s like pressing pause on the chaos. It’s me slowing down, observing, being fully *there*. Every line I draw feels less like a replica of reality and more like a fingerprint of the moment.

Both ends of that spectrum—painstaking or effortless—teach me something different about patience, flow, and expression.

Stepping out of the academic bubble and into my first "real" job was like landing on an alien planet. Suddenly, deadlines weren't just about grades, and code wasn't just for personal projects. The energy was infectious, but so was the pressure.

When the invite came to be a Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) Cloud Mentor, it hit different. I wasn’t just some student fumbling through labs anymore—I was now the one people would look to for guidance. Exciting? Yeah. Scary? Definitely.  

I’d wrestled with the chaos of cloud computing myself—figuring out IAM roles, breaking deployments, spinning up VMs that cost way too much money when I forgot to shut them down. So the idea of leading others through that same maze wasn’t just about dumping knowledge. It was about building a crew of cloud navigators, people who’d explore, break, fix, and create together.  

Ever had someone step in at the right time and completely change the way you look at a subject? That’s what I wanted to be for them.

### Beyond Technical Skills

Here’s the thing about mentorship—yeah, it’s technical, but it’s also *human*.  

I had to learn how to explain heavy concepts without drowning people in jargon. 
I was literally teaching my peers in 4th year as well as my juniors, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students.  
I used to be clueless on how to do these things, I'm not a public speaker, atleast i wasn't.

How to spot when frustration was about to make someone quit, and nudge them just enough to keep going. How to celebrate the small wins that stack into big confidence.  

Funny part? Teaching cloud forced me to understand it better myself. Breaking things down for others made me see gaps in my own knowledge—and filling those made me sharper.  

The GDSC community wasn’t just a club. It was this buzzing network of people hungry to learn, experiment, and build. Being a small part of that growth, watching others take flight—that’s the stuff that sticks.
